We are open for 48 weeks of the year, but we can provide care for the school term times only, or during school holidays only. We can provide emergency care if your minder or nanny is off for any reason. At the moment, our emergency care rate is the same as our standard rate.

Free 15 hours policy

From the term after their third birthday, and for some eligible children after their second birthday, all children may attend for fifteen hours during school term times, free of charge.

However, the way the money is allocated and the fact that it doesn’t cover our hourly costs, means that, for term time only children, we cannot spread the hours over five days.

Therefore, the hours must be taken either as two seven and a half hour days (ie 9am to 4.30pm, or 8.30am to 4pm) or as three afternoons 1-6pm or three mornings 8-1pm. We reserve the right to specify which days these hours can be taken, avoiding very busy times if necessary. We will not be able to provide places covering a few hours in the middle of three or more days, as this takes up a full time place with a serious loss of income.

There are only a limited number of term time only paid places, as we suffer a serious drop of income over holiday periods if there are too many.

For children who are eligible for the free thirty hours from September 2017, if they only wish to attend during school term times, the hours must be taken as three full days, not spread out over five days. We reserve the right to specify which days may be taken, avoiding very busy days if necessary.

Children who attend all year round will have the monthly equivalent of the fifteen or thirty hours deducted from their fees on a calendar monthly basis. They must attend for a combination of full and half days, not a few hours in the middle of the day.

Payment

We don’t yet have a registration charge or ask for a deposit, as we still have plenty of places. As the nursery fills up, we may have to introduce these. For now, we can be flexible about part time places. Payment must be made weekly or monthly in advance. Fees are payable for holiday periods (unless you have a term time only place) and if your child is sick.

We don’t encourage children to come for shorter periods (for example less than half a day or for a couple of hours) as they find it rather confusing and the other children who stay for longer can become unsettled if they see other mummies and daddies coming to collect children: they wonder why their own ones haven’t come for them!We don’t encourage children to come for shorter periods (for example less than half a day or for a couple of hours) as they find it rather confusing and the other children who stay for longer can become unsettled if they see other mummies and daddies coming to collect children: they wonder why their own ones haven’t come for them!
